A Public Apology

In our entertainment links section, we formerly had links to two blogs: TV Shows & Series Reviews on DVD; and TV Addicts Review. Both of these sites had excellent short reviews on various TV shows and series. At the end of each review, there were direct and exclusive links to TVDVD Planet and TVAddicts.tv websites, which sold the DVDs. This makes it clear to me that the blogs and the sites are connected commercially.
In looking up some Google search engine results, I stumbled onto numerous complaints that both TVDVD Planet and TVAddicts.tv sell only bootleg Asian DVDs, if they ship anything at all. I could find no positive comments about either of the two merchants. TVDVD Planet has since closed down.
Kaboom Review will in no way be affiliated with or condone illegal bootlegging of copyrighted material. Nor do we wish to be connected in any way with merchants with such a poor reputation.
I apologize to any of our readers that may have been misled by our connection to these merchants, however indirectly through their softsell blogs. I have removed all links to their blogs and sites from this site, and will strive to more closely examine any site or blog I affiliate with, recommend, or link to in the future.
Sincerely,
Mike “Godzilla” Blitz

[…] A full apology is here. […]
Hey, I have noticed strings of threads claiming to be TV Show reviews on numerous forums which often get acclaim and stickied by smaller community forums that actually contain links back to these people. I have been informing about these to what I can but these guys are active so keep a lookout for luvlyn and guinine and any others at forums you go to and if you see them posting these type of short TV show descriptions with links to severely overpriced bootlegs, please report these to the forum heads. From what I gather, those in charge are not following the links and just see it as a post about tv shows someone likes.
Luvlyn does the link text hing a lot, there may be links to text that reads Tv Shows on DVD that link back to the bootleg site. This is kind of a ripoff of a legit tvondvd newsite called www.tvshowsondvd.com Recently bought out by TV Guide, the guys that run this site are very passionate about TV on DVD and I think we partially have them to thank for Warner releasing The Adventures of Brisco County Jr and Time-Life releasing Get Smart as a complete collection, the concept of Season sets. Mind you Get Smart is only available through Time-Life’s website or phone number. I keep seeing posts by people that ended up buying luvlyn’s boots of Get Smart for more money than Time Life would charge for a completely restored uncut set of five seasons with the heftiest bonus features I have seen for a show of that period.
Anyways, for tvondvd news go to www.tvshowsondvd.com and they have archives and lists of what is available and pollings of most requested and these guys do have the ears of many of the studios.
Thanks for the info and update.
I’ve noticed that these guys are incredibly active. It looks like they’ve had a half dozen or so websites/companies in the last year. As soon as they shut down one, they open another. The insidious part is the softsell blogging that links back to their sites.
Thanks as well for the link to the www.tvshowsondvd.com site. Looks like an informative place.
