New Page: Action Movie Reviews

I’ve added an Action Movie Reviews index to Kaboom Review. This page will house the numerical ratings for all our action movie reviews. One cool aspect of this page is that all the reviews are sortable by each category. You can sort our action movie reviews by action rating, overall rating, special effects ratings, name, etc. There are also links to the full reviews from this page as well.

The page will be permanently accessible via the “Reviews” link on the top right of our site.

I’m excited about this index and think it will go a long way to making the site more useful in finding good action movies. As always, I welcome feedback, either by posting a comment or dropping an email.

Site Update: RSS Feed Changed to Summary Feed Only

We’re being “scraped”! In short, our RSS feed is being used by another site to take our content and repost it as their own. It’s nice to know that people out there think enough of our reviews that they want to steal them, but obviously we can’t let this happen.

Unfortunately, it seems that the best way to address the issue is to change our feeds to summary only. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I’ve come to this decision after consulting with a few other bloggers. So for any of your that are subscribing to our feeds, they’ll be changed to summaries as of this post. Clicking on the story title will bring you to the site and the full story.

The Anti-Quest: The Worst Action Movie of All-Time

In addition to searching for the best action movie of all-time, we’ll also be looking for the worst. Which movie is the lamest, most boring action movie ever to grace the screen? As we build up our database of movies, we’ll rank the ten worst action movies in their own Hall of Ugly. At the Bottom of this heap will be the Worst Action Movie of All-Time. We’ll think of a more demeaning title as we move forward.

We’ll take suggestions for movies to review, so if you’ve got one, drop me an email or post a comment here.

The Quest for the Best Action Movie

One of the goals of Kaboom Review is to rank the best action movies of all time. Along these lines, as we build up a library of reviews, we’ll be creating a top-ten list of what we feel are the best action movies.

The movie that tops the list will be called—for the lack of a better term at the moment—the Best Action Movie of All-Time. At this point, with only four movies in the review bank, Predator (1987) sits atop the pack. It has fended off challenges from Casino Royale, Catwoman, and Starship Troopers 2, but outside of beating Casino Royale that’s not saying much. We’ll see how it fares against stiffer competition as the site grows in size.
