Site Update: RSS Feed Changed to Summary Feed Only

We’re being “scraped”! In short, our RSS feed is being used by another site to take our content and repost it as their own. It’s nice to know that people out there think enough of our reviews that they want to steal them, but obviously we can’t let this happen.
Unfortunately, it seems that the best way to address the issue is to change our feeds to summary only. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I’ve come to this decision after consulting with a few other bloggers. So for any of your that are subscribing to our feeds, they’ll be changed to summaries as of this post. Clicking on the story title will bring you to the site and the full story.
Sincerely,
Mike

Seeing your hard work appear on another site without credit is very frustrating. It’s very hard to get these people to stop what they are doing, so using a summary is often the only answer.
Yeah, I wish there was a better answer, but summary feeds will have to work for now.
By the way, thank you for the email you sent regarding the matter, Feral Cat. Your answer helped calm me down. At the time I was pretty frustrated by the whole thing.

Sorry to hear about that. How did you discover that was happening? Sorry if that’s a dumb question; I’m kind of new to this stuff.
Love the Bond reviews, by the way!
Hi Dawn,
Not a dumb question at all! I did a Google string search (put everything between quotation marks) on a sentence from one of my reviews. The other site came up with mine in the results. When I went there, I found a half dozen or so of my reviews on their site.
I actually wasn’t looking for this sort of thing when I did the search. I think I was doing a quick search to see if the review was in Google’s index, and I was too lazy to log on to the Webmaster Tools to do it.
I’m not really worried about the scraping, as they did a lousy job putting them up and the site is a mess of stuff stolen from all kinds of movie sites.
I’m like you though, new to this stuff, so it amazed me that people do this. In communicating with other bloggers (Feral Cat from I Spit on Your Movie, and whose comment is posted above was one of two people who provided some great help!), it sounds like it happens often enough that they do summary feeds to help prevent it.
On a more fun note…thanks for the compliment on the Bond reviews! They are fun to do, and I’m hoping to review all of the Bond movies over the course of the year. It’s fun to watch them in order.

Thanks for the info!
We started watching the Bond movies in order but didn’t get very far. I had only seen 1 or 2 of the later ones before we started that (sad, I know!) So I look forward to checking back and reading your reviews!
We did, however, watch ALL of the (available) Hitchcock movies in order (years ago), even the silent ones. It was amazing to see the progression.
I’m pretty much the same way with the older Bond movies. I have seen pieces of most of them, probably from stumbling onto them when they were on TV. I don’t think I had seen any of the older ones from start to finish in one sitting.
Watching the Hitchcock movies must have been fun. In the past few years, I’ve rented a few, and have been impressed with each of them. Good stuff!
